The Business Forum, supported by the UNCCD (UN Convention to Combat Desertification) and the WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development), specifically focuses on sustainable land management, and the concept of Land Degradation Neutrality - a world where the amount of healthy and productive land resources necessary to support ecosystem services remains stable or increases.
Votorantim Cimentos has been invited by the WBCSD to join the panel Solution Market Place "Solutions to a land degradation neutral world". In this Panel, Patricia Montenegro, Head of Environment of Votorantim Cimentos presented the company's initiatives and progress in relation to land degradation neutrality.
Our Sustainability Commitments for 2020 contains a number of targets for 2020, three of them that are directly related to the theme.
